From four months of no progress to real progress in a week
We watched one student go four months without moving, then change in under a week.
For four months, a student we worked with did the same thing every day.
Solve a problem off a sheet. Watch the video if stuck. Move to the next one.
Four months of that.
New problems still felt the same way they had felt in the first month.
What the four months actually looked like
Two to three problems a day.
A notebook full of solutions.
A real feeling of doing the work.
Doing the work and doing the right work turned out to be two different things.
Every session ended the same way.
A familiar problem got solved fast.
An unfamiliar one got solved by remembering the video, if it got solved at all.
What one session changed
In a single DSA Framework Session, we taught a topic and solved a problem on it together first.
Then the student tried one on their own, and got stuck within a minute.
That minute turned out to be the most useful minute of the four months.
What we pointed out in that session:
- Where the thinking actually stopped, not where the code broke
- The one habit that repeated across every problem that had gone wrong before
- A specific question to ask before writing any code at all
None of this was new information the student hadn't already come across somewhere.
It was the first time someone had watched the thinking happen live and named the exact break in it.
What a week later looked like
The outcome, plainly
A week later, the same student picked an unfamiliar problem and talked through an approach out loud, unprompted.
Not a perfect solution. An actual approach.
That's the shift we care about. Not perfection, a working process.
We're not promising four months becomes one week for everyone who books a session.
This is what tends to change once the thing that was actually missing gets named, instead of staying buried under more problems.
If four months sounds familiar, read why 300 problems still aren't enough first.
Then book a session and bring your hardest recent problem with you.
What would change for you if one session named the exact thing four months of problems didn't fix?
Until you can solve it on your own.
