Understand

No code yet. Restate the problem in your own words. Pin down inputs, outputs, constraints, edge cases. Most wrong answers are written against a problem that was never actually read.

Break Down

Can't solve it for n elements? Solve it for one. Then two. The full solution is usually a small solution that grew up.

Attempt

Write the slow, ugly brute force first. It proves you understood the problem and shows you exactly what needs to get faster. Optimal code is earned, not recalled.

Reflect

Stuck? Good. Say the roadblock out loud: 'I don't know how to track the window.' Then shift one angle. This is the core muscle every interview actually tests.

Some honest truths before you start

I won't coddle you. The method works, but only if you respect how it works.

TRUTH 1

Watching a lecture is not learning.

Watch without attempting first and your brain stores someone else's logic. It builds none of your own. You nod today, you blank tomorrow.

TRUTH 2

The struggle is the point.

Those 20 uncomfortable minutes stuck on a problem aren't the part before the learning. They ARE the learning. Skip them, skip the skill.

TRUTH 3

Patterns alone are a house of cards.

Pattern-matching works right up until the interviewer changes one variable. Then it all comes down, because there was nothing under it.

TRUTH 4

No placement guarantees. Ever.

We build your skill. The market, the company, the panel — not ours to promise. Anyone promising them anyway is lying to you politely.

TRUTH 5

50 done properly beats 500 done passively.

One problem you fought through and solved yourself is worth ten you watched someone else solve. Depth compounds. Volume doesn't.
